Littlehampton Harbour
Wednesday's early morning tide at 01:00 on 10/04/2024 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Westerly Force 5 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.19 m. The total forecast tide is 6.30 metres Chart Datum (3.25 mAOD) at Littlehampton. Approximately 40cm lower than Monday evening. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide could cause flooding to boatyards, the industrial areas, and residential properties in Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing flooding to roads, including Ferry Road and Rope Walk. Water could also flow over the fields and through ditches from Climping. Wednesday's afternoon tide at 13:30 on 10/04/2024 is forecast to be very similar (3.31 mAOD). Flood impacts are expected again. Flood impacts could continue until Friday 12/04/2024. We continue to monitor the forecast. If you have it, please install flood protection 2 hours before high tide. Tuesday's early morning tide at 00:30 on 09/04/2024 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.7 m. The total forecast tide is 6.75 metres Chart Datum (3.70 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide will cause flooding to boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk. Water will be high up slipways and could be forced up through drains causing flooding to roads. Minor flood impacts will still be possible Tuesday afternoon. However, Tuesday's tide at 12:30 on 09/04/2024 is forecast to be 50cm lower (3.17 mAOD). We continue to monitor the forecast. If you have it, please install flood protection 2 hours before high tide.
